Trade books read in 7th Grade: Short Stories of Sherlock Homes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle The Giver by Lois Lowry Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan And 7th graders will read a selection of biographies in Literature Circles. Titles may include: Code Talker by Joseph Bruchac Martin Luther King, Jr. Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson, adapted for young adult readers by Sarah Thompson Up Close: Rachel Carson by Ellen Levine Up Close: Robert F. Kennedy Marc Aronson Franklin Delano Roosevelt
We will also read selections from our literature anthology, the Bronze edition of Prentice Hall Literature, including a play version of A Christmas Carol. (Be ready for our field trip to the play A Christmas Carol in December.)
