Short Term:

Week of 5/24/10: Be ready for your last biography reading group discussion on Thursday. You should have completed your reading assignment for the week, done the pre-discussion part of your journal, and completed your role sheet/ work prior to Thursday. As you read be aware of the need to gather information for your class presentation.

Short Term:

Week of 5/24/10: work on spelling unit 33 - workbook check and pretest on Tuesday; test on Thursday.

Test for DOL #29 on Thursday. Oops - next week, when we can!.

 

Short Term:

Week of 5/24/10: Your fifth and final group meeting/discussion will be Thursday - prior to that you must complete your reading assignment, the pre-discussion part of your journal, and your group role. (Discussion leader, character analyst, vocabulary enricher, and artist). Binders due no later than Friday.

5/26/10: summaries/reflections should be completed for each of the last chapters of Night, along with one entry into your dialectical journal for each chapter. Due Thursday. Be ready to discuss in class.

5/28/10: final questions and essay for Night due Tuesday @ 8:15 a.m.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Long Term:

Biography Reading Groups - books, binders etc. were distributed 4/22/10. There will be a group discussion period each week. Expect to do reading and preparation for homework. This activity will culminate in a presentation to the class about the life of your subject.

Spelling: normally we will complete a spelling unit each week. A pretest will be given Monday, workbook checks will be done Tuesday, and unit tests will be on Thursdays.

Literature Circles: novels, binders and papers were distributed 4/21/10. We have five weeks to complete the process. Group discussions will be held on Thursdays - individual journals and assigned roles must be completed prior to the group meetings.
