FASHION SHOW LUNCHEON: The Corpus Christi Fashion Show Luncheon is being held on Sunday, May 18th, at The Claremont Resort and Spa. Time: 11-2:30, lunch at 12:30. There are still tickets available. Cost is $65 or $55 for seniors. Checks payable to Corpus Christi Parents Group - CCPG. Please note "Fashion Show" with payment. You may send payments to the school office. For questions please email Kelly Powers (kpmediamates@gmail.com) or Toni McNulty (tmmcnulty2003@yahoo.com). M.U.S.E. BAND CONCERT MAY 18TH: Our 21st annual M.U.S.E. Spring Band concert is coming Sunday, May 18, 3:00pm, at Bishop O'Dowd school in Oakland. Students from 10 east bay schools and a few schools outside the area will be participating and performing as one large ensemble. REGISTRATION PACKETS: All registration forms, along with your fees, are due back May 28, 2008. Remember, packets are held if tuition or extended care are delinquent or if less than 75% of involvement hours are recorded. As soon as you are cleared, packets will be sent out. PARENTS GROUP BOARD ELECTIONS: Be sure to vote in the Parents Group Board elections. See enclosed ballot. Ballots are due in the office by Friday, May 16th. EMERGENCY/DISASTER PREPAREDNESS KITS: Are you prepared for the next earthquake? Please return your order no later than Friday, May 16th so we can get the kits ordered and delivered before the end of May. We are not selling these to make money, but are just providing an extra service to you. PARENT INVOLVEMENT HOURS: As we are nearing the end of the year, please submit any and all volunteer hours for Teacher Appreciation Day, coaching, field trips, year-end parties, and other school/classroom activities ASAP. If you still need hours to reach your 35 hour requirement, contact Pam DeLuca (pmdeluca@pacbell.net) to help with the 8th Grade Parent Farewell Dinner on Monday, June 2nd. TRAFFIC CONCERNS: We have received complaints from our neighbors about traffic coming south on Park Blvd. and turning right onto Estates and stopping. If the entrance into the Corpus Christi lot is blocked, please continue up the street until you can find a place to turn rather than creating a hazardous situation. Neighbors have asked police to patrol. |
without the Father Oliveira Memorial Fund... 2008 ANNUAL DRIVE UPDATE: This year's Annual Drive has raised $93,740, nearing our goal of $100,000. The Parents Group has made $10,000 in matching funds available for donations to the Drive during the month of May. If you have not yet participated in the Drive, please consider doubling the impact of your donation by contributing this month. Thank you for your support. We are so close to our goal. EXTENDED CARE: With Mrs. O'Shea retiring this year, we are considering our options for Extended Care next year. One of the options is to have a company such as Adventure Time come in to provide care for our students - look for a survey with this Newsline. Please fill in and return by Friday to ensure your input in this important area. CORPUS CHRISTI YOUTH BABYSITTING NIGHT: The Corpus Christi Youth along with the youth from St. Theresa's Parish are holding a fundraiser for the Service Learning trip to Yakima, Washington with Young Neighbors in Action. Enjoy a night out while your children are supervised...Friday, May 16th, 6:30-10:00pm at St. Theresa's Church Hall. Contact Michelle Lopez in the Parish office for further information. SUNSCREEN: Be sure to send your children to school wearing sunscreen as we do not provide it at school. We have many field trips coming up where the students will be out in the sun for extended periods of time. Please lather them before they leave home. YEARBOOK ORDERS: Don't forget to return your yearbook orders. Please contact the office if you need an additional order form. POPSICLE SALE - THURSDAY, MAY 15: Popsicles of various flavors will be sold for $1 each. Proceeds go to support this summer's Student Council leadership camp. SPORTS UNIFORMS: All uniforms for track, basketball and volleyball are due back cleaned and in a labeled bag. |

SPORTS BEHAVIOR: As we come to the end of our girls basketball season and start playoffs, the EBPL has requested good sportsmanship at games and in the gyms. LOST AND FOUND: Be sure to check the lost and found boxes outside the office for your missing clothing items. There is also a basket in the office with small items such as hair pieces, sunglasses, etc. Lastly, if you're missing any food containers, check with the office. We have several unclaimed items in the faculty room. START OF SCHOOL: The first day of school for grades 1-8 will be Monday, August 25. Kindergarten will start on Tuesday, August 26. A complete school calendar will be sent out at the end of May. TUITION ASSISTANCE - CORPUS CHRISTI: Forms are available in the office to apply for tuition assistance from the school. Applications are due back by May 28, 2008. TUITION ASSISTANCE - BASIC FUND: The BASIC Fund has extended the application deadline to May 28, 2008. Applications are for NEW students attending private school for the first time only. Siblings already attending the school and not receiving The BASIC Fund can be included as long as one student is attending private school for the first time. Renewal packets have been sent out. Renewing families should not fill out an application unless they are adding a new child in the Fall. Renewing families adding a new family in the Fall must fill out a new application for the new child. Additional information is available in the office. EXTENDED CARE: Since Sally is out I am doing the Extended Care billing. I used her spreadsheet to calculate the figures but my own design for the bill. You should have received by now. Thanks. TUITION: I will be calling those who are delinquent in tuition this week. LATE FEES: Extended Care and Tuition is late on the 15th with a $15 late fee assessed. |
CUB SCOUT INFORMATIONAL MEETING - 5/14: Calling all Corpus Christi families (and especially kindergartners)! Come learn about the fun and excitement of Corpus Christi's Cub Scout program...Wednesday, May 14th from 6:30 to 7:30 in the Gibson Center. Each grade level has its own "den" and enjoys outdoor adventure, learning skills, group activities and more!
