Crab Feed insights from Mrs. Isaeff

When I was a child my mom taught me that crab season was during the months of the year that had the letter “R.” Here at Corpus Christi, crab season is all wrapped up in one deliciously fun evening. Welcome to that time of year when excitement bubbles over like a boiling pot of water awaiting a crustacean friend.

We teachers and staff have been gathering our ideas and plans for our annual “Teacher Offerings” for the 2018 Crab Feed.

Teacher Offerings give us an opportunity to spend some time with students outside of the classroom. There are parts of your children’s personalities that we just don’t always get the chance to see, and having fun is the best way to draw those out.

This year in the middle school, Mrs. Lee is hosting a day of fun at Boomers for eighth graders. Mrs. Twomey is braving the darkness with a group of seventh graders to play laser tag. Sixth graders can join Ms. Gotch for a movie and pizza.

Second graders can get some of those wiggles out with Ms. Quilici with an afternoon of trampolines and treats. Miss Lee, Miss Knox, and Mrs. Nuti will host the annual Corpus Christi Cinema--dress code: pajamas--which no first grader should miss. And, a few lucky first graders can join Miss Knox for a pamper and polish at our local nail salon, Femi Macus, on Park Blvd.

Some of our teacher offerings even cross grade levels.Third and fourth grade come together for a round of mini golf with Mrs. Isaeff and Ms. Madden. The fifth graders and kindergarteners come together for an evening of snacks and games, hosted by Ms. Harmon, Mrs. Crosby, and Ms. McCarthy. What a great occasion to spend a little more time with buddies!

Last, we have a new Teacher Offering for all of our curious science kids in seventh and eighth grade! Come and learn from our own backyard beekeeper, Ms. Gialis, at her party: Beginning Beekeeping. Students will learn about colonies, hive set-up, bee behavior, and honey extraction.

We are so excited to present this list of Teacher Offerings to our school community at the 2018 Silent Auction. With a team effort, plus a little fun, teachers and students alike will benefit!
