Winter Olympic Recap:


As most of us know, the Winter Olympics have just recently ended. They were held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Pyeongchang is one of the smallest hosting cities since 1994, in Norway. This years Olympics had 2,925 participants from 92 counties which is the most athletes we have ever had in Winter Olympics! The sports for this year’s Winter Olympics were alpine skiing, the biathlon, bobsleighing, cross country skiing, curling, figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, luge, nordic combined, short track speed skating, skeleton, ski jumping, snowboarding, and speed skating.

Team USA won nine gold medals, eight silver medals and eight bronze medals with a grand total of twenty five medals! Although, Norway blew the competition away with thirty-nine metals. They received fourteen gold medals, fourteen silver medals, and eleven bronze medals. Norway tied with Germany for the most gold medals with fourteen gold.

In this paragraph we are going to tell you about some of the big wins from team USA. In Curling, the men’s team won gold. USA won silver in Snowboarding and silver in Alpine Skiing. The women's team won gold in Hockey. USA won gold and silver in Freestyle Skiing. This was just a short recap from Team USA in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics!
