Earth Day...turns into Earth week!

I’m Audrey, the Ecology Commissioner for Corpus Christi and this Monday I gave a presentation about how to help the earth and things we can do to make a difference. The student body was given several good ideas about what they could do to help and were left with some pretty serious thoughts.

“We should bike or walk instead of driving and try to help the earth, in general. There are a lot of people who don’t have what you have and who need what you have.”  Kate, 5th grade

“Resources we are using up are causing global warming. By 2050 there will be 200 million climate refugees.  We can work on eliminating that by exploring reusable energies and limiting gas usage.” Josh, 8th grade

We are also doing a door decorating contest, where each class decorates thier door with nothing but recycling and glue.  The designs are starting to go up and judging will happen on Friday. Imagine what you might do if you could only use recyclable objects literally pulled from

the bins! Check out CC Facebook page or Instagram account on Friday to see the amazing entries.

Remember it's never too late to help the earth. Even the little things help like, throwing away your trash, recycling, or compost in the right bin or taking shorter showers.
