Our Student Council will be collecting non-perishable food for the hungry in Alameda County beginning Wednesday, November 8. One in five Alameda County residents will turn to the Food Bank for sustenance this year. Hunger knows no boundaries in this economy – its victims live, work and attend schools in every community.
Students can deposit food items in their classroom food bins anytime during the week. Thank you for helping those in need in our community. The following is a list of the most needed food drive items:
Canned fruits and vegetables - 8th grade
Canned meats and fish - 7th grade
Low-salt soups, stews and chili - 6th grade
Pasta - 5th grade
Tomato sauce - 4th grade
Dry beans (bags) - 3rd grade
Rice (plain, bulk preferred) - 2nd grade
Peanut butter - 1st grade
Low-sugar cereal and oatmeal - Kindergarten
Powdered milk - Staff
PLEASE - NO GLASS CONTAINERS OR PERISHABLES!
