This year's WALK-A-THON shines rays of success.
Did you get a chance to participate in the walk-a-thon in October? Our community truly outdid itself this year, making this year’s “Walking on Sunshine” themed fundraiser one of our best years yet raising over $107,000 at press time, according to WAT Chair Marisa Kelley.
The school’s top fundraiser was Ellie Lunde, who raised an astounding $1,426! Her tip on maximizing donations? “Practice a short speech to use on family, neighbors, and friends.”
The student body collected pledges for 1,635 laps.
That’s a lot of walking! Here are some other interesting stats from the event:
Pounds of carne asada used: 25
Number of T-shirt designs submitted: 85
Percentage of students that participated: 99%
Number of sponsors: 23 (highest ever!)
Number of corn dogs sold: “Infinite,” said Delwin Ng, Food Chair
Highest # of pledges: 32 collected by 5th grader Max Gardea
Most laps walked: 33 by 5th grader, Nico Certa
Most money per class: $12,313.50 by the 3rd grade!
Thank you so much for supporting Corpus Christi School with your donations and pledges to the walk-a-thon! We can’t wait to see you next year!
